Spectrumzyme

(Broad Spectrum Enzyme Complex)

Spectrumzyme

Background

Spectrumzyme is a broad spectrum, plant enzyme complex. It is a useful digestive support to help improve tolerance to a wider variety of foods for individuals following restrictive diets.

Amylase is produced by the salivary glands in the mouth, by the pancreas and by the small intestine. Its function is to break down carbohydrates, which are usually in the form of polysaccharides, to disaccharides and then to monosaccharide.

Some food intolerance, for example lactose intolerance, result from improper digestion of certain foods or food groups.

Benefits & Features

  • Spectrumzyme is a broad spectrum enzyme complex which assists the body in the breakdown of fats, proteins and carbohydrates into smaller components which are more easily assimilated
  • All enzymes are derived from plant vegetable sources
  • Spectrumzyme is active over a wide pH range
  • Protease, bromelain and papain assist the body to digest proteins more efficiently
  • Lipase digests fats and oils, while amylase is required for the efficient digestion of starches
  • Glutenase, a gluten specific protease, hydrolyses (breaks down) gluten in wheat, barley, oats and rye
  • Lactase hydrolyses lactose (milk sugar), thus enabling lactose intolerant individuals to drink and eat milk products.
